As a child I worked in the garden at home, as a young man I lived in the green spaces. In my mind I designed the garden of my dreams. The outline was traced, the water flowed across the garden visiting everything there.
We visited many places in the valley of the River Canche and found our site.
The garden may tell you its own story.
I am a large 5 acre pasture between the Canche and the “Little River” at the centre of Maresquel, a village of 847 inhabitants. I lived peacefully with good soil among the fog and the rains of the Pas de Calais. In 2000 I was delighted to be made into 25 small gardens with 8500 plants. My horizons stretched right round the world, with examples of gardens from every country.
My creators the Dautreppes made me everything that they wanted. I was draped in all the colours of the rainbow with different perfumes everywhere. I became many gardens with many colours. Please come to see me. Your footsteps, your voices and your silences will fill me with delight.
